Good, but a fair amount of redundancy with the Ugly's general electrical book.Update: 2-18-2018After using this book for a while, after my original review, I have found that even though there is some redundancy with the general electrical book, it has some very important tables when it comes to sizing your branch circuit conductors and branch circuit protection in regard to motors. These tables are typically part of the NEC electrical code book which comes with a hefty price. For this reason alone, I have increased my rating from 4 to 5 stars. One table in particular has done all the calculations for you and lists the proper breaker, fuse and conductor sizes based on horsepower. Well worth it.

Pages look like a scan of the actual book. There is an annoying border around every page that cannot be expanded out.

It's a helpful book if you work around industrial electrical. Plenty of useful tips and diagrams that I don't believe are in the regular edition.

They also provide teachers, parents, childcare workers and child therapists with a range of skills to create stories that address challenging behaviour. Included in the text are eighty stories divided into different behaviour categories for easy reference - to work with directly, adapt or use as models for creating your own tales. Brief notes precede each story, with an age guide and suggestions for use. The categories cover many kinds of commonly identified challenging behaviour, from dishonesty through laziness to teasing and bullying; everyday situations like `tidy-up time'; experiences such as `moving house'; or problems and difficulties such as `separation anxiety', `fear and nightmares' and `illness and grieving'. The range of selected stories and ideas are suitable for ages three to eight. If you feel inspired to write your own therapeutic tales, the text provides a story-making model - a threefold framework of `Metaphor', `Journey' and `Resolution' - to guide you. Beside this framework, the book has chapters on age-appropriate stories, multicultural perspectives, props and presentation aids, and guidelines for the telling of stories. It is my hope, with some help from these sections, that you will feel encouraged to write and tell your own stories, and so perpetuate and develop age-old story traditions.

What a great collection of stories! There really is something soothing in her stories that resonates with my children. It pains me to take a star off of my review as it is no reflection on Susan Perrow's work, but on how the Kindle edition is set up. The Kindle edition is only organized by chapters, without subchapters listing all the stories within each section. So all the wonderful stories in this book not listed at all! So, if one is looking for a particular tale to tell, it can be very challenging to find what you are looking for. Say I wish to read her story The Light Princess. I can only find this by searching for keywords, but 'light' & 'princess' appear many times in the book. So I have to strategically remember another another element or phrase from the story that won't likely be in another story. Frustrating e-book, but wonderful book. I'd recommend a paper copy of this book unless a revised Kindle version is released.

I love this book. It's full of great short stories for kids. We read a few stories at bedtime every night. They aren't just for difficult or challenging situations, they are positive and fun stories for everyone in any situation. I almost didn't buy it because of the title, but I am glad I did, it's wonderful.

Repetition of a single story at a time for days/weeks has helped my 3 year old son manage his averse reaction to certain situations. Generally, his behavior is more "normal" for a 3 year old. Great resource

Love this book. The title is deceptive (I think) and this is my only critical remark on it. If you could only buy one book on storytelling to children, this would be it. This is not only about storytelling but gives actual stories that are unique and easy/fairly easy to memorize. And the children love them. I ignored this book for months because of the title, since I didn't have "problem" children or behaviour problems to speak of. But once I actually looked into the book I saw that there was much more here than what the title incurred. I recommend this to anyone serious about teaching or raising healthy children through the wonder of storytelling.

This book is amazing. It doesn’t just list stories, it give information about the importance of stories and to write your own to fit the situation. The stories range from short and sweet to a little longer and more complex. Highly recommended!

This is a really great book for telling stories or examples of stories for different scenarios in a child's life. She also gives really great information about how to be an actual storyteller yourself and make up your own stories according to your child's needs. Just a great book.

Love this book. It is FULL of very enjoyable stories (pretty much for ages 3-4 and up), categorized by "behavior issue". However, it is relevant to note that the stories stand strong in their own right and certainly don't need to be told only inthe context of a child's behavior issue. The stories include the author's own as well as classic stories from around the world and others from her colleagues. She also has a very encouraging and helpful section on developing your own story-telling skills. Highly recommended!

I am continually referring to this book and it’s companion, Therapeutic Storytelling, for my classroom storytelling. Healing Stories has encouraging sections on why and how stories can be used to make life better.
