This is a great book; I am new to drones, have purchased a couple of Ready to Fly budget models and intend to move up to a kit model with auto pilot, GPS, etc.. This book takes the mystery out of all of the major components and accessories for a done with autopilot, GPS, and radio telemetry. It also has some introductory information on video and cameras with references to additional information. It is arranged around putting together a specific quadcopter drone kit with each chapter detailing the installation of a specific component (frame, power board, electronic speed control, motors, receiver, flight controller, etc..) Each assembly step is preceded by detailed background information on purpose and selection of the component. Just chock full of information presented clearly and understandably.What this book is not is a tutorial on how to fly your drone, of which there are many. It is an excellent tutorial and reference book.

The book's stated goal on page vii is to provide the reader with basic working knowledge of aerial robotics. The authors do an excellent job of this describing the history of drones and RC aircraft, as well as providing a clear description of the systems and avionics of these devices. Woven throughout this is an articulate description, and well as clear photo documentation of the build of a basic quadcopter. This is a good book and one that I may be using as a reference if I decide to build a drone. While I do rate this book as 5-star and quite good, I did find myself wanting to read more in "Chapter 4.) Flight Controllers" about computer vision and onboard processing of visual data in real time. There are some prepackaged devices on the market, (eg the Parrot AR.Drone) that have shown a high level of sophistication. NASA as well as universities have used these specific units in their exploration of autonomous aerial robots. Builders of homemade devices may want to incorporate some of these abilities in their drones, as well as possibly expand on these capabilities.

This book is ok. It's usefulness is limited, however, by the fact that the drone kit it uses as an example is difficult to impossible to find or buy anymore. This book isn't terribly useful without the drone kit. I would guess there's a better introduction out there.

I like the info, though it is really geared to readers who are building specific quads.. which is fine, but just be aware. If you are making a custom quad, you might, like me, use this for reference, and adopt many principles to your build. I am happy that I have it to use as a reference.

I have been considering building a quadcopter and so far this book has answered every question.

Update: just got my board result and I passed. This book was my primary review source and there is not a single question that I felt was not touched on in this book. No board review course. I would definitely recommend more so than before!Great concise book that covers pretty much all the basics in nephrology. Highly recommended as a blueprint to start reading nephrology early on in fellowship and as a review book right before boards. I looked hard and no other book is even close to this, it really fills a void.If you are looking for a book to be primary source of reading for fellowship then The primer or comprehensive clinical nephrology are the way to go.

Nephrology and Hypertension Board Review is truly an outstanding book that belongs in the library of every nephrologist and renal fellow. Written in an efficient outline format, it *succinctly* but also *thoroughly* covers all high subjects in nephrology including electrolytes, acid-base, AKI, CKD/dialysis, HTN, GN, pharmacology, and transplantation. With high yield tables, pathology images, and diagrams, it seamlessly integrates pathophysiology, pathology, clinical pearls, and KDIGO management guidelines. With about 390 content pages, every page is like gold for those who want to rapidly improve their knowledge of nephrology whether for clinical practice or the board exam. Many, many thanks go to the authors for filling a critical void.

This is a very impressive and concise review of the Nephrology for the board examination. The book is written in easy to understand format with clear flow and no ambiguity. The authors appear to be well aware of the time constraints that fellows and practicing nephrologists have while preparing for the exam. The book therefore avoids lengthy debates and stays focused on the pertinent content. There is very short and to the point discussion of major clinical trials in nephrology where ever applicable. Further suggested readings and information about additional resources is clearly laid out throughout the book. It pretty much covers every possible topic in line with the ABIM's nephrology blue print. The most impressive chapters are those on electrolytes disorders and on glomerulonephritis. The quality of practice questions is mediocre and I hope that would significantly improve in future editions. There is room for improvement in every topic but I felt the chapters on renal replacement therapy and formulas related to that need some serious revision. There are also few typos and spelling errors here and there that I hope will be addressed in next editions.

I just bought the book a week or so ago but found it a very helpful and an updated review.. I have no doubt that it is an essential time saving tool for every `learning or practicing nephrologist: Both Juniors and Seniors..

LOve this book! And easy read and all the details that seem to be needed for boards! The book follows the Asn board reviews!!! I listened to all the lectures and they notes i took are basically the contents of this book!
