Hi,I've read at least 100 sales books and 3000 or 4000 marketing books.I understand a number of reviews on this book weren't favorable. I think I can explain why. And tell you why I read the book 4x times and feel you should also.1. Here's why this book is exceptional:Rashaun earns 7 figures in commissions annually.2. He does this by using about 10 prospecting methods every single day3. He distributes 50,000 reply cards a month, 5000 flyers a day, and more. He passes out literature daily.Now, when I sold insurance no one ever gave me ANY of these ideas. They told me call through my book of business and that there were some direct mail letters in a drawer I could look at!4. He breaks down the number of leads each method generates.Now there's one thing he doesn't do:This book doesn't go into in-depth step-by-step implementation details.For example, there's no sample flyer or even a picture of the flyer he distributes. There is a very rough mockup of his business reply mailer he distributes.That is the reason I think some criticized the book.Others said they didn't learn anything. I don't know man. The dude does 7 figures in COMMISSIONS annually. He DOMINATES the sale of family life insurance in NY. He is #1 with multiple vendors in sales.I've read a lot of books on insurance sales and never saw one this detailed about prospecting. Most books give methods to get referrals or a few things that don't work.This guy is what he says he is. He says he's a prospecting monster. After you read the book, I can't fathom that you aren't motivated to crank up some prospecting.I read this book 4x so I could take notes and make sure I didn't overlook something. Plus, it kept giving me ideas.Now, I don't sell insurance now and haven't for many years. I teach people online marketing skills. Don't expect a lot of online marketing from his book!But if you want to know how to generate the volume of leads and activity it takes to earn 7 figures in commissions, this IS the book.Also, what he says MATCHES my own personal experience in marketing. It takes a TON of prospecting activity of some sort to earn 7 figures.Guys and gals, this book is only 5 bucks. He didn't document this in franchise like detail. It's 5 bucks! When I first started reading this I thought "who is this guy?" Here we have a book purporting to show the ways to making a multi million dollar income selling life insurance, and in the opening paragraph the writer is going on about how he regularly receives death threats from competing agents because he is so damn good - a Monster in his own words. So who is Rashaun Page you might well ask? I certainly did. Turns out he's a street smart self-made African American sales machine who grew up in the projects and has cracked it big time by doing things that most other agents wouldn't dream about when it comes to getting leads.In his book he takes you through a no nonsense step by step guide on what he does to generate business. His methods are not for those of us with pre-conceived ideas about how an agent should prospect, as he is all about showing up at the prospects door, mostly unannounced. I must confess I have used one of his techniques which involves door knocking on local businesses to sell key man cover and income protection, and I can attest that it works. To the best of my knowledge I'm about the only agent who does this in my town. And that's my point. Page's techniques work, but they're not for everyone. If you can put it behind you that Rashaun clearly wrote this book in a hurry - it's laden with typos and the layout is terrible, which is part of the charm), then you will find in this book some absolute gems. In his other book, "Stop Buying Life Insurance Leads, Create Them" he goes into more step by step detail in building sustainable lead generation engines. A worthwhile read.
Great book. Very inspiring. After reading the book and actually meeting the author he has totally shifted my beliefs about what is possible and how to achieve it. The book gives great tips on strategies and thinking outside the box on prospecting. The name of the game is focused activity. The more people you reach, the more you earn. By any means necessary. For more detailed info on the strategies check out his other book.Overall, you have to give it up to Rashaun no matter what. He built an empire with blood, sweat and tears doing the hard work most people refuse to do. I see other agents in the business sitting and waiting idly passive buying leads or sitting at a table hoping someone approaches them. That's not the most effective way to build your business. You need to go after people and hunt them down. If you stand on the corner, looking professional, for 4 hours handing out flyers to EVERYONE that passes you, someone is gonna buy. PERIOD.
And I told myself I'd read this ONE book to make sure if I was doing the right thing or not. If you are struggling, stuck or new in your INSURANCE CAREER, please take 1-Hour out of your life and READ THIS BOOK! It's a PERFECT read to do a temperature check on your desire to be or remain in this field.
Rashaun is obviously a very driven person. Not all of us are. But he does give the tools and encouragement to be as successful as he is in this book. It is a quick read but it is an uplifting read. Read it quick, study it for a long time! It left me thinking, "Why can't I do what he did?" That in itself is worth it!
